I want to sell my dress so I can help pay off my bills, however I am 4'9 so I had to alter a lot off the bottom and I don't think I will find many people that height. I thought I would share with you, our wedding.

I love that so many brides want to donate their dresses. It will make a womans dreams come true and believe me this is coming from a bride who doesn't have a wedding dress due to medical problems and no money.
I think it is awesome to send them to the charities and such, but It is also awesome to find a needy bride and give it to her where she may not otherwise get to feel like a bride and a princess on their special day.
If I have a dress to wear on my special day I think I will just post a forum on one of my favorite websites and ask why people need the dress and then choose a woman that I think could really use it. To help someones elses dream come true:)

I bought my dress from a happily married woman who made it possible for me to wear the dress I wanted and still stay in my budget. I'm going to re-sell my dress so that someone else on a budget can also have this opportunity. (I'd donate it, but the re-sale price was part of the budget...)

Those are some really great ideas! I would love to do one of those. However, I had to cut off 8 inches off my dress. ( i'm 4'10) so I doubt I can resell it. It's actually a bit fancier, so I can't really wear it everyday. So I guess I will just store it. Does anyone know of any other ways to store dresses besides those expensive kits?

One of the reasons I decided against a white dress was so that I could wear it again. This also helped me justify spending more than I normally would on a dress, since I hope to wear it for a lifetime of special occasions, not just one day.
Dyeing is a great option, though!

wow, you can't even tell that's the same dress! I plan on keeping and preserving my dress. My best friend had her garter and her purse made from material from her grandmother's gown, so I hope when I have children someday, they find a way of reusing and recycling my dress!

wow, dyeing is a good idea! Except I really think i'm going to have more of a 'princess dress' (although made in Canada- so no sweat shop dress for me!). I was thinking of donating my dress. I really like the idea of my dress being a part of love and light in another bride's life :)
