You guys seem like fair people who try to do the right thing, given your wedding philosophy. Before you host your party at Chuck E Cheese, you should be aware of some of their practices. Perhaps they've changed their policy. You could ask them if a guest with an allergy could bring his/her own food to your party and then you'll know.

When two of my friends finished their PhDs at roughly the same time, they planned a joint party a Chuck E. Cheese. They discovered that it was much cheaper to price it as a "party" than to have each of us pay individual admission--the the only "parties" Chuck E. Cheese understands are birthdays. The staff were a little baffled when we arrived about how to handle this, but they did their best. My favorite part was that we were atually the only party there that evening--so during the show we were the only ones to be announced and congratulated. The slightly flustered woman announced, "Well, we have some very special people here today. Um, Joan is now a Dr., and Phil is now a Dr! Yea!" while the kids clinging to Chuck's legs just stared at her in baffled incomprehension. (They also couldn't comprehend that we, as adults, were doing our best to wait in lines for the games. They figured that we must be waiting for our kids to do something, and thus, they we're cutting in front of us.)

Yay! Actually, I recommend everything except the ball pit. Rumor is that the kids take liberties with, um hygiene, while hidden from view in the ball pit. But man oh man - best birthday idea ever. Enjoy!
