Now that Happy-Mother's-Day has come and gone, I can share pictures of our Wedding Book.
Embarrassingly, I've been dealing with the wedding book since Christmas. The plan was to make a book of wedding photographs to give to our families as Christmas presents. I tried Inkubook back in September but found it to be insufferable (Editor's Note: I think they've been working on their program for several months, so it's probably better now.)
Thanks to your suggestions, I went with Blurb instead. The program was super-easy to use, and I was able to import photos from flickr. Despite the user-friendliness of the program, it took f-o-r-e-v-e-r to make the book. I wanted each page to be a little different, and I was sifting through more than 2,000 photos.
I busted my butt to get the order in time for Christmas, and Blurb delivered the two books reliably on Christmas Eve. Unfortunately, we were already on our way to Florida.
Therefore, the book for Matt's family became a belated Christmas present (we gave it to them when the visited in March) and a Mother's Day present for my mom.
Matt and I were really happy with how the books turned out. The only issue was that Blurb accidentally printed someone else's book at the end of our book (entitled, "Happy One Year Anniversary, Jared!"). When I reported the problem to them, they responded quickly and have shipped a new book my way. In the end, we got three books for the price of two (and got a kick out of looking at a high schooler's tribute to her boyfriend).

This is exactly what we're doing for our parents.... I love that one! I'm checking it out!
That is SUCH an awesome book- looks great! I'd love to know what all it says in the sleeve there- on the inside of the jacket cover thing.
@ Bailey: I think you can click on the picture and it will enlarge. We put the first part of our vows (I love you because...) on the inside of the covers.
hahaha LOVE that you got to see that other person's book, too funny - but I hope nothing like that happens to us...just put in a rush order with Blurb for a wedding guest book - should arrive the day before the wedding! yikes.
gah- that reminds me I still need to finish our Blurb book too! at this point, I'll be giving it as an Xmas present this year... oops.
this is super adorable! we did something similar for my dad for xmas for a trip he had taken and it was awesome. these books are great ways to commemorate these types of events.
Sara, just finished your entire blog over the course of a few weeks. I've worked as an assistant to a wedding coordinator for several years and have seen some pretty crazy things, but your wedding has got to be one of the most exciting expressions of love and commitment that I've seen. I am soon to be engaged (and people I've said that too are surprised, but hey--I'm not into surprises and we've talked about it) and I have already taken away so many ideas. Thanks so much for your blog!
awesome! i'm so excited to design our blurb book after the wedding!
Blurb is pretty good--but still needs some work! I ordered a guest book and had some problems with the photo-wrap cover. I think the dust jackets turn out better. Definitely order premium paper.
Nice work, books are SOOOOO much work! That's why photographers charge so much. Blurb are really great little books,, we just designed one for my husbands pottery business to showcase his best pieces... it turned out so cool!
