I Heart Envirosax

One of the women I met at the Sew Crafty potluck a while back is the owner of an eco-friendly salon in Houston: Dot Dot Salon. I decided to get my haircut before we left for Paris and Greece (it's been, um, way too long). She ended up taking something like 3.5 inches off. Phew!

At the checkout, I spotted some envirosax. I have seen them featured on some of my favorite blogs, but I had never come across them in the flesh. I had been looking for an extremely light and portable bag to take on our trip. I imagine we'll collect food from the market for a picnic, and we'll also need something to carry our towels and books to the beaches of Greece! At eight bucks a pop, I couldn't resist.

People are always asking for inexpensive, tangible gifts to bestow upon friends and family who help out with the wedding. These bags would be perfect! I love the combination of fashion and function. I got the one featured in the photo above, but I also love the ones in their organic series. Ooh la la!

If the fabulous folks at environsax happen upon this post, please consider hosting a contest here. I would love to give some away for free to 2000dollarwedding kindred spirits!

I LOVE my hemp envirosax- I have two flip and tumbles (like popples, but bags!) but I was so tired of trading in my plastic bags, for nylon... plastic bags.
Although not as compact as my flip and tumbles (so cool, seriously), I feel great about my hemp bag. NO PLASTIC. :)
Also- they are SO easy to wash!

I love my envirosax. And a nice, unexpected benefit is that you get to have nice chats with people who want to know where you got your snazzy bag. And you know how sometimes check-out clerks seem annoyed at your reusable bags - they never do when you pull out an envirosax.

But I would like to know more about these flip and tumbles ...

I posted pictures of how they fold up here: http://lt-green.blogspot.com/2009/02/product-review-envirosax.html

Thank you so much for sharing these bags!!

I was given one for a gift and kind of always wondered where to buy more! It is amazing how much they can hold and how small they can get!

I just bought the set of five for my grocery trips!

I've been loving reading your blog, lots of fun ideas. Recently I was asked by a friend to do her wedding photos and so I've been looking at ways to make it fun and special for her. I found some unique, and free, photo editing sites that you may want to write an article on yourself. Just an idea. Keep 'em coming, one day I'll need them. You can head over to my blog to see what I found.

I have Floral 5, which I picked up at a boutique in Laguna Beach, and it has been an AWESOME purchase. Just this week I decided envirosax will be part of my bridesmaids gifts. You are going to love how light it is! At first I would occasionally stop and look for it, thinking I had left it somewhere because I couldn't feel the weight on my shoulder. Its that comfortable. Thank you so much for letting me know where to find them in Houston!

Envirosax are fabulous bags!I'm trying to get coworkers on the bandwagon. I currently live in Tampa, FL & I heard about these a year or so ago from my daily green tips (www.idealbite.com); problem at the time was when I did a search for a local carrier, the St. Petersburg Museum of Fine Arts' gift shop was the only place in the area that had them. Crazy. Now there are a few more places thankfully.
I'm getting married next year and we were thinking about giving them out as wedding favors--it was b/w those and the trees you can get from the Arbor society...still not sure which ones to go with...
