The owner sends us pictures of Hoss's adventures at camp (apparently he swims!). She says he barks every morning because he wants to be let out to play, and she calls him a "maniac" because he prefers to follow his nose rather than obey commands from two-legged creatures. (Just don't tell the people at the Delta Society who registered Hoss as a therapy dog that he doesn't listen when he's off the leash...) Matt and I are much more content leaving Hoss at camp rather than taking him to a kennel.
He makes me smile.

Looks like he is loving it! Have a good day.
Adorable! But why did you have him registered as a therapy dog?
What a cutie. Was he a rescue dog? This is Therese from Whole Earth, by the way :)
dog camp - i've never heard about that before but what a fun idea! one of my dogs would totally love that. the other dog would never be allowed considering he wants to bite almost every dog he sees :-(
He looks like he's having a blast! Where is the dog camp that he stayed at? Given how much my dog Baxter loooooooooves doggie day care (seriously - he gets so excited everytime he goes!) I bet he would have a ball at camp!! I've never even heard of such a thing!
I love his ears! He looks as if he's trying to take flight!
Theres a dog camp here in Ontario, I'd love to send my dog there!
When I was little my parents always referred to the kennel as 'dog camp'. I always imagined it as a place where dogs would play frisbee and do crafts under a big canopy, and the dog counselors wore visors and whistles and for some reason could walk on their hind legs. I was pretty disappointed when I actually went to 'dog camp' when I was six. Jem (border collie 'amalgamation') loved it there, the owners spoiled her rotten. But it was nothing like my visions.
That is so cute! I wish I had a dog to send to camp during our honeymoon.
Though we still have 6 months to go so there's hope for us yet..
@ Therese: He was a rescue dog!
@ Amelia: We had him registered as a therapy dog so we could take him to schools, hospitals, and retirement centers as a volunteer.
Awe! Too cute! Makes me want a dog. :D
I loved learning that Hoss is a therapy dog. When we got our puppy, Odin, we knew we wanted to train him to be a therapy dog. The program in Seattle is called Reading with Rover and I learned in San Antonio it's Story Tails. I'll be so excited to get him certified. The idea of dog camp is awesome.
He looks like he had a blast!
Oh, that's wonderful! I bet you guys have a great time visiting and volunteering together.
I only know him vie your blog -- and yet. Hoss. Rocks.
That is all.
So. I have three things to say as gratitude for you sharing your amazing Hoss-tails.
1) EARS are EXCITING!!!
2) Ears that are used as a volunteer for good causes are also EXCITING!!!
3) Because of Hoss, my fiance is warming up to the idea of having a dog. Which is severly EXCITING!!!
So, Thanks!
