Collecting & Developing Ideas

Is the weekend already here? Seriously? And so is the next month? Sheer craziness.

I don't have much planned for the weekend aside from some work that's been piling up. I guess that's what happens when the weeks and months fly by!

For a little weekend inspiration:
  1. Realizing that you can throw a lifetime of parties rather than put all your eggs in the wedding basket is very liberating. You don't have to pick THE invitation or THE dress or THE centerpieces. In that vein, how about an Oscar party with these free invitations and tin foil confetti from Twig & Thistle? Yes, please!
  2. Need ideas for DIY gifts? How about this Japanese embroidery kit from the purl bee? So cute!
Happy Friday!

Amen, sister! And may I add: a lifetime of parties where people won't try to mingle in your planning and expect perfection. This is one thing I never understood. When you plan a birthday, a baby shower, a superbowl party, an Easter dinner, people never tell you what you absolutely "have to have", or that you can't do this or that because it's tacky or trashy. My husband and I eloped because of all that pressure (would you be interested in featuring my minimalistic wedding? I could e-mail you my story today). His mother was do overbearing, she was telling us what to do even if we were paying everything. We ended up going to the courthouse with just our two witnesses. I don't have regrets, but I think my husband does. So I think I'm ready for the next big party to plan!
